With its very intuitive user interface and automatic calculations - Acme,Stub Acme,Buttress,Trapezoidal and Knuckle threads can be set up with a few mouse clicks and to machinable G-code within minutes. Typical use cases are for large or custom threads where full profile inserts isnt available on hand or they need to be custom ordered.
Run roughing in multiple stepover directions or zigzag for minimum tool wear, or use multiple roughing tools with different sizes. For internal threads on parts with thin walls or tools with large overhang, it can be advantageous to machine the thread with a smaller grooving tool. Full profile inserts have always a higher risk of introducing chatter. ThreadTracer is very intuitive, with 5 years of development and being used regularly with both old and modern machinetools, the graphical interface and process are well tested and have been adapted for efficiency.
All threading data for most of the common standard thread types are built right into the plugin, and calculates everything for you. There is no need to lookup thread tables or calculating numbers. Setting up the programming for any thread is just a matter of minutes and a few mouseclicks. See the Features page for a detailed list of all the features and supported thread standards.
